PASSWORD RECOVERY

Computers were meant to make our lives easier, and to give us a simple and secure way to store our valuable personal or business data. Too often, however, computers make things more complicated. With computers come passwords. Lots of passwords. Often in the best interest of security users will use numerous passwords to protect their data. A smart decision - until that password is lost or forgotten.

If you are like many people, you would be left with nowhere to turn, and years of valuable and irreplaceable data would be lost forever.

Often in business environments the password protection of certain files becomes standard company policy, or employees will password protect personal files created in company time to prevent the employer from accessing them. At some stage access to these files will be required but hampered by the loss of the passwords. This could be through either, the employee leaving and not being immediately available, or, in the case of a where the employee was disgruntled, they may have applied passwords to particularly important files and now cannot reveal or refuse to reveal the passwords to you.

In most cases those self same important documents may indeed then become unrecoverable and mean either a missed deadline or loss of a client.

Fortunately for you the recovery of the all important password is now only an e-mail away!

The passwords usually protect files or systems characteristic of the field the company is involved in, whether server and workstations, documents, spreadsheets & database files or ZIP files & accounting systems.

Below is a list of files for which the passwords can easily be retrieved for all versions the files were created in. The list is by no means exhaustive and only represents the most common type of files in use.

Simply e-mail the file to passwords@scda.co.za, we will access the file for you and send you a sample of what it contains. Once you are satisfied that we have indeed opened the file, we will return it to you upon proof of payment of our fee.

Most files can be opened instantly, however should the level of encryption increase, and type of password become more involved, the time taken to open the file may increase
